 Our Staff

The BIG Event selects students who share a passion for service to the Nacogdoches community as Staff Member for the academic year. Members of The BIG Event Staff are students who understand the vision of The BIG Event: uniting to imagine and build a better tomorrow to say "thank you" to the Nacogdoches community for today.

​

A BIG Event Staff Member is a year-round position filled with many important tasks and opportunities related to serving the Nacogdoches community and connecting with other Lumberjacks. Some of the responsibilities and opportunities typically given to Staff Members are:​

  • Weekly staff meetings (Wednesdays from 7-8pm, currently held in a hybrid modality due to COVID-19)

  • Weekly office hours

  • Monthly Adopt-A-Resident community service days

  • Various socials, including roller skating, picnics, bowling, and more!

  • Fall and Spring Retreats

  • Tabling to promote volunteer registration and knowledge of our organization's mission

  • Annual Thanksgiving Dinner with our Adopt-A-Residents

Being a BIG Event Staff Member is an extremely fun, fulfilling experience that can introduce you to life-long friends, help you get community service hours, make great connections in the Nacogdoches community, and have unforgettable experiences!
